Friends In The Desert is pleased to share that the generous donation of a gas stove and oven by St. Andrews Catholic Church has been installed. The permitting, contracting and construction processes necessary to install the stove took several months to complete. For more details about this significant development and the generosity of contractors, service providers and St. Rose Dominican Dominican Hospital, please contact Friends. Various stages of the stove installation are highlighted below.

After cleaning and preparation the stove was ready to install.


A specialized exhaust hood and fire prevention systems were installed.



The exhaust system included internal and external modification to facilities and many other elements of special accommodation graciously provided by Friends In The Desert's host, St. Timothy's Episcopal Church.
 

Meal guests of Friends In The Desert and Friends volunteers now enjoy much greater capacity and efficiency thanks to the this kind donation of St. Andrew's and many others.
